NorthStar is a premier supplier of safety missile heads for SCA combat archery. Due to their extremely rigid safety standards and consistent methods of manufacture, we offer Lu-Shan UHMW Blunts. There are now more than one type of blunt out there and their application and installation instructions vary.

Please thoroughly familiarize yourself with the types and seating methods before showing up on the field. Failure to do so could have serious consequences, not the least of which is injuring a fellow combatant. This circumstance aside, there are few things more irritating than to arrive geared up for battle only to have your entire ammo supply flunked by a marshal for improper construction methods.

Need electrical tape for covering the shaft? We have 1" wide electrical tape that is perfect for shaft covering. Available colors are black, dark blue, medium blue, sky blue, dark green, light green orange, purple, red and yellow.

Price per roll: $3.00 - enough to do 45 arrow shafts or 90 bolt shafts.


NorthStar Complete Missile Kits w/Fathead Blunts or Lu-Shan UHMW Blunts

Why go to half a dozen different places to get your arrow-making supplies? These new kits, exclusively from NorthStar Archery, take out all of the guesswork. Each kit includes everything you need to build one dozen arrows or crossbow bolts - 12 Lu-Shan UHMW -OR- Fathead blunts, 12 Asgard APDs, 12 solid fiberglass shafts, strapping tape, electrical tape (your choice of color), Goop® Adhesive, cut closed-cell foam* (Lu-Shan blunts only) and assembly instructions. It doesn't get any easier. Simply open the box when it arrives and you are ready to go. The shafts have already been cleaned with acetone and prepped before shipment. The shaft ends are sanded, the Asgard APD and shaft holes are roughened to improve adhesion.

* Closed=cell foam is cross-linked polyethylene, aka 'Minicel'

Sorry, we do not offer kits for wooden shafts.

Preassembled Bolts w/ Lu-Shan UHMW Blunts: $62 per dozen

Circular cut foam padding is available in either 1/2" or 3/4" thicknesses. If your kingdom requires 3/4" thick padding AFTER taping (taping compresses the foam) then you will need two thicknesses of the 1/2" foam for each missile. Two thicknesses of 1/2" foam will compress to 3/4". If your kingdom requires 1" of padding AFTER taping, you will require one 3/4" disk and one 1/2" disk together. Thickness choices do not affect kit pricing. Just let us know what you need.

New SCA rules missiles have a MAX of 1" of tip padding.
